Ooop, forgot to share these pictures from my belt maintenance session last week.
Here is my Dolce Vita garrison belt (a custom collaboration with the shop Clever) – I’ve had it for a short while, and it was time for some oiling & waxing.
It’s a 3.8 cm wide, one-piece design made of 6 mm thick, shoulder-cut steer hide from the US.
The buckle is a scratch-proof nickel/chrome plated buckle which was custom designed for this belt.
It is one hell of a belt, with a nice texture and variable natural markings (which are not readily visible in the photos below, due to the fact that the leather is very shiny from the wax).
The hand-finished back & edges are very nicely done too.
I’ve removed the buckle for maintenance – more pictures coming in a couple of weeks time, including the buckle.
I have a special buckle to attach to this belt (it’s still in transit at the moment), here’s a sneak peak – a Cat’s Paw Rubber Co. buckle from 1976:
