Out of the wash and completely dry – I just wanted to share the evolution of the thick leather patch on the ROY 5-pocket jeans.
The colour has gone from light saddle-tan to a dark wooden brown, and shrunk just a tiny bit overall!
It’s got so much character now – absolutely loving it… the picture below shows a lighter colour than in real life (taken under direct natural sunlight).
Compare the above to when it first came (was sun-tanned by Roy for a few days):
Here’s a close-up shot of the denim post-wash. A hint of fading is just beginning to peek through near the crotch whiskering.
I think maybe I’m getting close to the ‘watershed’ (i.e. accelerated) period for the whisker fading – it’s hard to say, this White Oak denim is so mysterious!
But as Roy promised, the denim is becoming quite comfortable now, while losing none of it’s 3-D appearance.
