Deer leather rub-down

Did some texturing work on the deer skin watch band with some emu wax and a blow-dryer.

The dark ribbons running through the grain is something that is very hard to achieve on other mammalian leathers (well, at home anyway.)

Not quite tiger stripes, but it is quite pleasing and does bring out the black of the watch face.

Overall, with the darker shade of tan and espresso coloured ribbons and the very visible dark pores, the band now matches the watch much better.

So should I still go ahead with the dyeing?

Me think leave it for the time being.

Really does feel like a new watch now!

The Jubilee bracelet really was too, well, ‘mature’ for my liking.

I am quite keen on a new watch in the next couple of years though – haven’t bought one in 5 or 6 years.

Thinking about a Grand Seiko – quality construct and great value to boot.

The basic models also seem to work quite well with leather bands πŸ™‚
