Very happily took my Alden 403 boots out for a test-walk today.
Fairly certain that I’ve got the sizing right – there were no fatigue or pain whatsoever after a couple of hours walking on bitumen, blue-stone and concrete.
The neoprene cork provides very good traction on dry, urban grounds; will have to give it another go in wetter conditions to compare it’s performance with my preferred lug-soles.
So far so good!
The vamp of the boots, however, does crease easily. Would recommend a wider/spring-toed shoe tree for them.
Also, just purchased some Japanese footwear today:
They ain’t Goodyear welted, but are way more comfortable than boots – must be the cork soles 😛
