This is a Monitaly shawl collar field jacket I got a while back.
I plucked it out of the closet for some felting, and thought I might as well show the results…ta da:
The herringbone shetland wool was woven in Britain, and has shrunken & flattened out nicely after felting.
There is still a bit of shrink left, me thinks, and hopefully I’ll get the keratin packed in a bit more next time – it’s just too warm for the Australian Winter otherwise.
I have to say, the materials and construct used on this jacket are quite impressive:
Really liking the vintage style front pockets and the ample internal storage pockets, the waist band is a nice touch too.
If it weren’t for the fact that some of the fabrics are slightly more ‘modern’, this jacket could well have been made by a Japanese repro brand.
Very happy with this Meg Company piece 🙂
