The Giant cut short – part I

Just got my 1970’s Georgia Giant moc-toe sports boots back from the cobbler.

Had it shortened from 8 to 6 inches in height; more details over the weekend, but in the meanwhile here are some day 1 photos:

The TigerTan glove leather is really quite curious – a very different handle from most modern leathers.

The grain is tough, and an afternoon storm proved these boots to be water-proof:

The neoprene soles proved very functional on wet surfaces too.

Most folks mistake these old-fashioned neoprene to be rubber crepe, but it really has quite a different feel and a whole lot more traction in the rain!
