Ray’s Thorogood boots.

Fellow horsehide footwear contest contestant Ray Lansburg (of Blackacre) has made some heavy modifications to his pair of Thorogood #685 reproduction boots.

I re-dyed my own pair a couple of weeks back, but Ray has taken things one step further!

Check this out (photos courtesy of Ray):

Apart from the dye job, the sole units have been redone…

Cat’s Paw heels, Vibram mini-lug soles, double mid-soles.

Look like a pair of heavy duty work boots?

Yep, that’s how Ray intends to use them!

Contest begins in a few hours – you can follow it or sign up here!

We have lots of prizes sponsored, thanks to Don’t Mourn, Organize!, Vintage Engineer Boots blog, Summit Creek Dry Goods, Blackacre and Hollywood Trading Company HTC.
